Wisconsin has a new Dean of Continuing Studies

Dr. Jeff Russell.  He's new to the field so we need to invite him to the ACHE Annual Conference and Meeting in Orlando this fall.  From The Cap Times.

Campus Connection: UW-Madison picks new Division of Continuing Studies dean
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is turning to a familiar face to become its next vice provost for lifelong learning and dean of the university's Division of Continuing Studies.

Jeff Russell, professor and chair of UW-Madison's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was named to the post, university sources confirmed to The Capital Times on Tuesday. The university later announced the appointment in a news release.

Russell earned the nod over two other finalists: James Campbell, the interim vice provost for lifelong learning and dean of the division; and Thomas Kowalik, director of continuing education and outreach at Binghampton (N.Y.) University.

The Division of Continuing Studies is designed to be an entry point for nontraditional students to access the resources, facilities and programs of UW-Madison. The vice provost and dean is charged with providing campus-wide oversight of the university's outreach mission. Russell will oversee a combined faculty and staff of about 100 full-time equivalent workers and will manage a budget of $15 million.
